Hyderabad, Oct.26 (NSS): Former minister and senior BRS leader Sabitha Indra Reddy has blamed chief minister Revanth Reddy’s attitude for the families of police constables coming out on the road and protesting for the fulfilment of their pending demands. She said that the women came out of their homes and protested as Revanth, who is holding the home department portfolio, failed to solve their problems.
Sabitha Indra Reddy held a press conference at Telangana Bhavan in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that It was sad that the police families were coming on the roads demanding justice.
“This is the first time in history that the police have come on the roads. Revanth Reddy! Is this public administration,” she asked .
She said that the police constables did not know to whom to share their pain in the absence of a home minister in Telangana.
She mocked that there was a situation in Telangana where the police should wear uniforms and hold dharnas on the roads. “However, the lack of minimum response from the government despite the protest programs is sad,” she said. She demanded that CM Revanth should keep his word on uniform police system. She also said that the old practice of spending 4 days out of 18 days with the family should be continued. She said that atrocities against women had become common in the state.
MLA Sunitha Lakshma Reddy said that this was the first time that the family members of the police were protesting in the country. She alleged that various works were being done in the houses with the help of the police. She urged the government to resolve the police issues. “It is sad that dharnas are being held daily in front of the secretariat. Is there public administration in the state,” MLA Sunitha Lakshma Reddy doubted.
