Sabyasachi Ghosh, IAS, promoted

Hyderabad, Sept.23 (NSS)Sabyasachi Ghosh, IAS (1994) is promoted to the Apex Scale of IAS (Level-17 in the Pay Matrix), with effect from the date of assumption of the charge.

Consequent to promotion, Sabyasachi Ghosh, Prl. Secretary to Government, AH, DD & F Department, is retained in the same post, duly re-designating the post as Special Chief Secretary to Government, AH, DD & F Department. Sabyasachi Ghosh, IAS, Spl C S, Animal Husbandry, Diary Devt & Fisheries: His initial work was in the districts of Warangal, Vizianagaram, West Godavari, and Karimnagar.

In 2000-2004, he was the Special Officer for the National Games, 2002. He was also the Special Officer for the 1st Afro-Asian Games, 2003 handling Mega Infrastructure Projects (Gachibowli Sports Complex + 7 stadiums). As Special Officer he has also conducted the mega events of National Games 2003 in Hyderabad, and the first Afro-Asian Games 2003 in Hyderabad.

From 2004 – 2011 he was in the Tourism, Finance and Sports Department. During this time, he was entrusted with additional responsibilities of critical tasks like organizing the Asian Development Bank AGM 2005 in Hyderabad, and the Military World Games in 2007 in Hyderabad. He was entrusted with additional work of development of the Military World Games Village.

From 2011 – 2016, he was the Secretary to Government in the Industries and Commerce Department in the United Andhra Pradesh Government and subsequently the Telangana Government. During his tenure he handled important subjects like Mining, MSME, Handlooms and Textiles, Industrial Infrastructure Development, Food Processing, Leather, Khadi & Village Industries and Industrial Promotion. He was the Managing Director of the AP State Finance Corporation ( Telangana ) in 2015 -2016.

From 2017 – 2024, he was the Secretary / Principal Secretary of Youth Services Department. During this tenure he was also the Chairman of the Telangana Society for Training and Employment promotion (TSTEP), and the Chairman for SETWIN (Society for Training and Employment Promotion in Twin Cities). He was actively involved in Skill Development, Training and Employment Promotion for the youth.

He is also an avid sports person. He has represented India in International Shuttle Badminton Tournaments around the world in Men’s Doubles. He was also the first President of the Telangana Athletics Association from 2014 -18. His expertise is mainly in the areas of I T, Industries and Commerce, Sports, Tourism and Skill Development.
