Hyderabad, Oct 11 ( NSS): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee ( TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud has made it clear that the rule is the same for anyone who makes a mistake and the same punishment will be given to everyone regardless of their affiliation in Telangana.
During the interaction with media persons here on Friday, the TPCC President also clarified that there is no formal alliance between Congress and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in Telangana, but rather a friendly understanding.
He emphasised the distinction between the party’s relationship with AIMIM and the need for maintaining law and order.
The TPCC president stated, “When it comes to breaking the law, the same rules apply to everyone, regardless of their affiliation.”
He acknowledged that the party has successfully integrated both new and veteran members, and clarified that senior Congress leaders will always have priority when making decisions on crucial matters.
MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud also criticised Union Minister Kishan Reddy, asserting that it was inappropriate for someone in such a position to make irresponsible statements on the Musi Riverfront project.
He pointed out that the Telangana State should avoid situations like Wayanad and that, in case of unforeseen incidents, no one should face undue hardship.
Mahesh Kumar Goud accused the BJP of being a communal party and claimed that there is a secret understanding between the BJP and the BRS, benefiting both parties.
He also raised concerns about the differences in judicial treatment between Aam Aadmi Party leader Sisodia, who has not been granted bail, and BRS leader Kavitha, implying that there is widespread knowledge about the reasons behind this discrepancy.
Defending Minister Konda Surekha’s recent remarks, the TPCC president said that her comments were not meant to insult anyone, adding that emotions and frustrations sometimes lead people to speak out.
Further addressing the Musi River issue, he mentioned that the State government never made a commitment of Rs.1.50 lakh crore for the project, as previously suggested by some political parties. The TPCC president questioned whether BRS and BJP leaders are truly committed to transforming Hyderabad for future generations.
He also stressed that the government’s focus is not on targeting the poor, but on reclaiming encroached government lands held by influential individuals.
“The BJP has no right to speak on matters concerning the underprivileged, as the Congress party holds the real mandate to serve the poor,” he added.
