Sania Mirza summoned for evading Rs 20 lakh in service tax

Tennis ace Sania Mirza has been summoned by service tax department on February 16. The former World No 1 doubles star, the 58th highest prize winner in women’s tennis, has been orderd to pay Rs 20 lakhs in arrears.A Padma Bhushan awardee in 2016, Sania, who has won six titles in women’s doubles and mixed doubles, has earned a total of $ 6.523357 million in prize money – Rs 43.726 crores – according to the latest prize money list released by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) on February 6, 2017.Sania Mirza summoned for tax evasion.Don’t understand why people like sania can’t pay their taxes properly with kind of money they’re making— Anshul Saxena (@AskAnshul) February 9, 2017
