RIYADH,20th June 2024 : Saudi humanitarian center KSRelief carried out a number of aid initiatives across the Middle East and Africa during Eid, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
In Baidoa, a city in southwestern Somalia, the center distributed 786 sacrificial animals for around 3,144 displaced individuals. This initiative is part of the larger project to secure sacrificial animals in the Somalia this year. The project aims to distribute a total of 2,220 animals in Banadir region, including the capital Mogadishu and the southwestern region of Somalia, with the aim of supporting 53,280 individuals.
In Yemen, KSRelief distributed 200 sacrificial animals in the Mudharabah and Ras Al-Arah districts of Lahij Governorate, to 2,800 individuals from needy groups. The initiative is will help 32,620 Yemenis. Additionally, 350 sacrificial animals were distributed in the Mansoura district of Aden Governorate, benefiting 4,900 individuals, including cancer and kidney failure patients, people with disabilities, orphaned families, and needy families.
In Syria, the Saudi agency distributed 350 sacrificial animals in the cities of Darkoush and its camps in Idlib Governorate and Jindires and its camps in Aleppo Governorate. This initiative benefited 2,897 individuals affected by last year’s earthquake.
The project in Syria will distribute 1,388 sacrificial animals in various cities across the country and aims to support 73,188 individuals.
In Chad, the center distributed 1,000 food baskets in Mayo-Kebbi East Region, to 6,000 individuals from the most needy groups. This effort is part of a larger food security project for 2024, which targets the distribution of 54,855 food baskets weighing 65 kilograms each, including essential food items. The project aims to benefit 121,530 individuals across the various regions of the central African country.
These distributions are part of KSRelief’s ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid and support to those in need around the world, alleviating suffering and bringing joy during festive times.
