Hyderabad, Aug.5 (NSS): Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway held a detailed review on safety of train operations across the zone on Monday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. R. Dhananjayulu, Additional General Manager, SCR also participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.
Arun Kumar Jain instructed the officials to take necessary precautions and avoid water accumulation at ROB’s/RUB’s during monsoon season. He instructed that a drive must be taken up to identify the vulnerable Road under Bridge’s (RUBs) where the issue of water logging problem persists during monsoon season. He advised to make adequate pumping arrangements and provision of water gauges. He also reviewed on the status of elimination of Level Crossing Gates over the zone.
Arun Kumar Jain instructed all the DRMs to take proper safety procedures for
stabling the empty rakes in the yards to avoid any miscreant activities in the stabled trains. He also advised to install CCTV surveillance in the major railway yards to safeguard the railway assets. He reviewed the stock position of smoke detectors and fire extinguishers over the zone and instructed the officials to ensure sufficient stocks of all fire safety equipment. He also reviewed the progress of ongoing works over the Zone.
The General Manager discussed on the crew working hours and instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to meticulously plan on proper rest to be given to the crew members.
