
Hyderabad, June 16 (NSS): Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka has congratulated Telangana-based 26-year-old bilingual poet and short story writer Nunnavath Karthik for winning the Sahitya Academy Yuva Puraskar 2024 for his short stories collection Dhavlo.
In a release here on Sunday, the Minister said that it was a matter of pride for a tribal child to receive the Central Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar.
Seethakka further stated that Karthik’s stories depicts deeply into the lives, mentalities, joys and sorrows of tribals. The Minister has conveyed her best wishes to the young writer for choosing the lifestyle of the Banjaras as the subject of his story to rise to greater heights.
The young writer writes under the pen name Ramesh Karthik Nayak and has four books to his credit, three in Telugu and one in English. His poems also appeared in international journals and were translated into Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and other Indian languages.
In the past, Karthik Nayak was thrice shortlisted for the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in Telugu and also won Kalahamsa Kavitha Puraskaram, Tribal Young Achivers Award from Telangana Sate government and others. (NSS)
