Hyderabad, Oct.5 (NSS): Minister for Panchayat Raj Seethakka on Saturday took part in the Bathukamma celebrations held at the Secretariat, highlighting the deep cultural and environmental significance of the festival.
Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that Bathukamma is the heart of Telangana’s culture, symbolising the profound connection between the people and their natural surroundings, particularly the lakes and water bodies that play a central role in the festival.
“Bathukamma is not just a festival; it is an enduring bond with our lakes and nature. No matter how high we rise in life, we must continue to preserve and pass on the rich traditions handed down by our ancestors to future generations,” Seethakka stated.
She underlined the importance of Bathukamma as a unique festival in the world, one that celebrates the flowers and the lakes through ritual worship and devotion.
Seethakka also reminded everyone of the historical significance of water bodies in the lives of the people of Telangana.
She urged the public to continue safeguarding this tradition, ensuring that Bathukamma remains a thriving festival for generations to come, protecting it as a vital cultural heritage.
