Some people trying to disturb law & order in Telangana: Etala

Hyderabad, Oct.21 (NSS): Stating that Hindu temples are being attacked by some people, BJP MP Etela Rajender today expressed displeasure that the government was acting in a careless manner in such communally sensitive cases.

BJP MLAs and MPs along with Rajender met Governor Jishnu Dev Verma on Monday morning. A complaint has been lodged over the recent attack on the Muthyalamma temple in Secunderabad. Later, the leaders spoke to the media at Raj Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion, Etela alleged that after the attack on the Muthyalamma temple, the accused was labelled as a madman by the State government and attempts were made to let him go. He claimed that some people were trying to disturb law and order in Telangana.

He alleged that the police resorted to lathi-charge and made arrests while the rally of the activists of Hindu organisations was taking place peacefully. “Many people have lost their lives in the city due to terror attacks. Again, such attacks are being planned by the miscreants,” he claimed. He said he had requested the Governor to punish the culprits severely.

BJLP leader Eleti Maheswara Reddy said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had not condemned the attack on the Hindu temples so far and added that the Nizam’s autocratic rule was continuing in the State. He warned that attacks on the Hindu temples would  not be tolerated. “What was the government doing without registering a case against the accused,” he asked and claimed that 100 people were planning attacks in the city. “What is the State’s intelligence system doing? An attack on temples is an attack on our mother. We will fight back,” said Maheshwar Reddy. The delegation also met with the DGP and  submitted a representation urging him to take action in the issue of the attacks on the temples.
