Hyderabad, Aug.23 (NSS): Manda Krishna Madiga, the founder president of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS), has requested Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to speed up the process of implementating Scheduled Castes sub-categorisation in Telangana.
Following the Supreme Court’s recent landmark verdict which has allowed the sub-categorisation of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in reservation, allowing wider protection for underrepresented groups, Manda Krishna Madiga along his community leaders, including Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, Government Whip Adluri Laxman, MLAs Vemula Veeresham, Kavvampalli Satyanarayana and Kale Yadaiah, former minister Mothkupalli Narasimhulu and former MP Pasunuri Dayakar called on Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy at his residence in Banjara Hills on Friday and discussed about the implementation of SC sub-categorisation.
On the occasion, Manda Krishna Madiga, who has been a vocal supporter of the sub-classification for decades, said the top court’s order was a massive victory for the marginalised communities among SCs and STs. He urged the States to come forward to implement the SC classification as per the Supreme Court verdict.
