
Hyderabad, Aug.15 (NSS): On the occasion of the 78th Independence Day on Thursday, GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, accompanied by its Commissioner Amrapali Kata and Deputy Mayor Mote Srilatha Sobhan Reddy, hoisted the national flag and offered a salute at the GHMC headquarters. On the occasion, the Mayor and the Commissioner received the police salute.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said tributes were being paid to the martyrs, who fought to breathe the air of freedom of the Indian nation and laid down their lives in the freedom movement. “Telangana State has been achieved with the national spirit of India and with peaceful struggle,” she said and added that the State government was working towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people and the aspirations of the martyrs and with the aim of providing the fruits of Telangana to all those who are eligible.
She said the State government was fulfilling the promises made to the people of Telangana and taking steps towards public administration and added that the government was working towards providing employment to the unemployed youth. “Recently, the government has released a job calendar to fulfil the expectations of the employees. The State government allocated Rs 1100 crore within a month of taking over the administration to financially support the GHMC and has allocated Rs 3,065 crore to our corporation in the State budget.
She said that Cleanliness and Greenery programme was organized in Greater Hyderabad from August 5 to 9 and added that More than in the past, they had taken into account five aspects of this programme and had successfully completed each of them with the coordination of people, public representatives and officials.
“On the first day, sanitation, on the second day, mosquito eradication, on the third day for the conservation of ponds, on the fourth day cleaning of Nalas and on the fifth day, vanamahotsava programme was held successfully,” she said.
