(RAHNUMA) : The community is in mourning following the sudden passing of Shabbir Hussein known affectionately as Jaber Patel, a prominent figure known for his tireless efforts in fostering friendship and understanding between India and Arab countries. The news of his demise, which occurred last night during the holy month of Ramadan, has left many shocked and saddened.
Jaber Patel was not only a dear friend but also a brother to many. His dedication to various organizations, including his role as President of the India Arab Friendship Foundation and President of the All India Minorities Forum, showcased his commitment to fostering cultural and diplomatic ties.
Tributes poured in from across the community, with Mr. Amir Ali Khan, Editor In Chief of The Siasat Daily, expressing his grief. “Jaber Patel will be tremendously missed by his family and friends,” he remarked.
His impact extended beyond borders, as evidenced by the condolences offered by His Excellency Mr. Adnan Abu Alhaija, Ambassador of the State of Palestine in New Delhi. Ateeq Siddiqui, General Secretary of the India Arab Friendship Foundation, received these condolences at the cemetery earlier today from Syed Ahmed Khan, Head, The Rahnuma-E-Deccan Family.
As the community comes to terms with this loss, thoughts and prayers are with Jaber Patel’s surviving family members. May they find solace in this difficult time, and may Jaber Patel be granted the highest ranks in heaven for his contributions.
Indeed, as the Quran states, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun” – “Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return.”
