Amaravati, Oct.18 (NSS): Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu today said the TDP had never worked for posts and added that it had played a key role in the country’s politics and emerged as the most powerful party. “TDP played a key role when the country was in a difficult situation,” Naidu said.
He held a meeting with TDP MLAs, MPs, MLCs, in-charges and key leaders at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri. Leaders were given directions on various issues by Naidu.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu said they should review the good work done by the government in the 125-day rule and move forward. “The NDA is in power at the national and State levels. In the recent elections, the three parties contested together. We have to coordinate with the party and fulfil the aspirations of the people who have supported us. In the last five years, the activists have suffered in all respects, made sacrifices and worked hard. The funds given by the Centre have been diverted. Now, if you are asking for funds, the Centre is asking us UCs for the funds given in the past. Rs 990 crore of panchayats has been diverted. With this, Rs 1200 crore has not come. After we came, ₹. 990 crore were paid to the panchayats and ₹.1200 crore will come to the panchayats now,” he said. “We came to power within nine months of the formation of the party. TDP played a decisive role at crucial times in the country’s politics. We have formed governments through the National Front and the United Front. We worked in the Vajpayee government. It worked only for the country and for the State.
