Hyderabad, Aug 1 (INN): Several key decisions were taken in the Telangana cabinet meeting held in the Assembly Committee Hall on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
During the meeting, which lasted for over two hours, it was decided to rename the Dharani portal to “Bhoomatha.” Additionally, it approved Group-1 DSP posts for cricketer Mohammed Siraj and boxer Nikhat Zareen.
The issuance of new ration cards was also approved. A subcommittee headed by Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy will be formed to draft the related procedures. The Cabinet decided to issue ration cards and Aarogyasri health cards separately.
A sub-committee was established to oversee the merger of outer villages into the GHMC, with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Sridhar Babu, and Seethakka as members.
Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar briefed the media about the decision taken during the cabinet meeting.
They informed that the Cabinet passed a condolence resolution for the victims of the landslides and heavy rains in Wayanad, Kerala, and expressed sympathy to the bereaved families. The Telangana government offered necessary assistance.
The cabinet approved a job calendar to ensure timely recruitment as promised to the unemployed, which will be discussed in the Assembly. It also discussed issuing health cards along with ration cards to profile the health of all state residents. A sub-committee comprising the Revenue, Health, and Civil Supplies Ministers will finalize the procedures.
The cabinet approved the allocation of 600 square yards of land in Hyderabad to athletes Esha Singh, Nikhat Zareen, and Mohammad Siraj. It also decided to provide Nikhat Zareen and Siraj with Group-1-level jobs. The Cabinet resolved to offer Hari Ratan, son of the late Intelligence DG Rajeev Ratan, a Municipal Commissioner post and a Deputy Tahsildar post to the son of the late Additional DG P. Murali.
The cabinet approved the completion of the pending right and left canals of the Gouravelli project, including the acquisition of approximately 2,000 acres of land.
The cabinet discussed the MLC nominations returned by the Governor and decided to resend the names of two candidates for approval.
