TELANGANA INITIATES TALKS WITH PHILIPPIANS FOR PADDY EXPORT

Hyderabad, Oct.5 (NSS): Minister for Civil Supplies Uttam Kumar Reddy has initially discussed the possibilities of paddy export to the tune of 3 LMT to Philippians.

After discussions with the Commissioner Civil Supplies and some experts in fields, the Minister on Saturday held a video conference with the in-charge Minister of food & Agriculture of Philippians. The conversation went on a cordial and positive environment

It is pertinent mention here, that the Philippians has stopped the importing paddy and rice from India for last few years, due to a quality reasons. However, as the Telangana State rice has improved considerably the ongoing talks are on for the government to government export, if it materialised, it will give up the trade route for Telangana State rice and paddy to Philippians for the time to come.

Both the Ministers assures each other with full cooperation and hoped that the deal materialises soon. If it is materialises, it will be another feather in the cap for Civil supplies department of Telangana as due to its enhanced quality, our paddy is likely to be exported to a country after a gap of few years.
