Telangana State stood first in the 2nd National Lok Adalat

Hyderabad, Sept.6 (NSS): Ch. Panchakshari, Member-Secretary, Telangana State Legal Services Authority today said the Telangana State stood first in the 2nd National Lok Adalat held on June 8, in the entire country in which a total number of 10,33,051 cases were disposed of in the district courts and at the High Court during the National Lok Adalat, conducted by the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, on June 8. An amount of Rs 750 crore was awarded as compensation to the beneficiaries in the settled cases. A total number of 5,71,486 pre-litigation cases were settled and 4,61,565 pending cases were settled in the said National Lok Adalat.

Interacting with Media on September 6 in the Conference Hall of Telangana State Legal Services Authority, the Member Secretary also discussed about the upcoming National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on September 28. He requested all the litigant public to utilize the National Lok Adalat, settle their civil disputes and also compoundable criminal cases. Settlement of a case in Lok Adalat will put an end to litigation and there will not be any further litigation and  against such settlement, thereby it saves money and time, he added.
