Hyderabad, Aug.28 (NSS): Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao has announced that Telangana’s tourism sector will be introduced to the world in a new light, establishing the State as a major destination in the days to come.
Jupally Krishna Rao on Wednesday participated in the PATA Travel Mart (PTM) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. The event saw participation from 900 delegates representing 45 countries, with Telangana being one of five Indian States in attendance.
At the Travel Mart, Minister Jupally Krishna Rao inaugurated the Telangana Tourism department’s special stall, which showcased the state’s historical, heritage sites, and tourist attractions. The stall, aimed at introducing Telangana’s tourist spots to an international audience, featured photographs of prominent sites such as Buddha Vanam in Nagarjuna Sagar, Charminar in Hyderabad, and the Laknavaram suspension bridge in Mulugu district.
During the event, Jupally Krishna Rao met with Nagesh Singh, the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, Malinee Nitikasettha, Executive Director of Thailand’s Tourism Department, Ranief Sansha, Executive Director of the India Chapter of PATA and various representatives from different countries.
He extended an invitation for them to visit Telangana, highlighting UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Ramappa Temple, Golconda Fort, Warangal Fort, Kakatiya Toranam, Charminar, Qutb Shahi Tombs, the Buddha Vanam Project, Thousand Pillar Temple, and Pochampally, which was recognised as the best tourist village in the world.
The Minister emphasised that Telangana and India are home to a diverse range of tourist attractions, encompassing cultural, historical, spiritual, and environmental experiences.
Stating that the PATA Travel Mart has provided a valuable opportunity to showcase Telangana’s unique tourism offerings to the global community, Jupally Krishna Rao also mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Telangana is progressing towards developing world-class infrastructure to enhance its rich history, culture, and heritage.
The PATA Travel Mart, aimed at promoting tourism in the Asia-Pacific region, fostering cooperation among Pacific nations, and providing better infrastructure to attract tourists, is being held from August 27 to 29.
The event also saw the participation of Vijay, Executive Director of Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, along with other officials.
