Telangana’s investment push in Japan with focus on renewable energy

Hyderabad, Sept.30 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu embarked on a three-day official visit to Japan, following his week-long tour in the United States.

He arrived in Tokyo on Monday afternoon and was welcomed at Haneda Airport by Indian Embassy representatives Ajay Sethi, Madhusudan, and Aman Aakash. Accompanying him on this visit are key officials from Telangana, including Special Chief Secretary to Finance, K. Ramakrishna Rao, Secretary of Energy, D. Ronald Rose, and Singareni CMD N. Balaram.

The primary objective of this visit is to engage with major business companies in Japan, focusing on green hydrogen technology and other eco-friendly industrial solutions.

The delegation is expected to hold discussions on advanced mining technologies, green hydrogen plant setups, and various renewable energy sectors.

As Telangana is aimed at strengthening its renewable energy sector, Bhatti Vikramarka will extend an invitation to these companies for investment and industrial partnerships in the State.

On Monday, the Indian Embassy, led by Indian Ambassador to Japan, C.B. George, provided a briefing to the Deputy Chief Minister about the potential for industrial collaboration between Japan and Telangana. They discussed the opportunities for investment and joint ventures in Telangana’s burgeoning industrial sector. The meeting was followed by a reception organised by the Indian Embassy in honour of the Deputy Chief Minister and his delegation.

During the visit, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu is scheduled to meet with several industrial giants. On October 1, he will participate in a roundtable meeting with companies interested in investing in Telangana. Later that evening, he will visit the Yamanshi Green Hydrogen Plant. On October 2, the delegation will tour renowned companies such as Toshiba, Kawasaki, and Yokohama Industries. Finally, on October 3, they will visit Panasonic’s headquarters in Osaka, after which the delegation will return to Hyderabad on October 4.

This visit is expected to strengthen Telangana’s ties with Japan’s leading industries and pave the way for potential collaborations in sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure.
