
Hyderabad, Sept.19 (NSS): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the newly established Telangana Young India Skill University should be made a role model in the country and its responsibility has been handed over to the University Board.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with Board members of the Skill University and industrialists at the Secretariat here on Thursday and asked them to participate in the State government’s endeavour.
Stating that 150 acres of land and Rs.100 crores have been allotted to the Skill University on behalf of the State government, he asked the industrialists to participate in the development of Skill University and come forward to establish a corpus fund for the full-scale management of the university.
The officials were advised to name these buildings after their companies or donors.
“Henceforth, the responsibility of the university is being handed over to Board Chairman Mahindra Anand. I am confident that Mahindra Anand will bring his brand image to the Skill University as latter has experience in this field as well as a unique identity,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister further stated that his government will focus on the establishment of Young India Sports University from now and the proposed sports university will be set up in around 200 acres and training will be provided to the athletes with the aim of bringing a gold medal to India in the 2028 Olympics.
“There is no dearth of funds for the Sports University. The State government is ready to bear even if it costs Rs.1,000 crores in the budget of 3 lakh crores. I also request all the industrialists and businessmen of Telangana to extend their cooperation for the University,” Revanth Reddy said.
On the occasion, University Board Chairman Anand Mahindra has praised the Chief Minister’s idea to provide skilled youth from Telangana to the world and said that Revanth Reddy is a visionary leader.
“When I liked the proposals made by the Chief Minister on the Skill University, I immediately accepted and expressed readiness to be the Chairman of the University,” Anand Mahindra said.
Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Sridhar Babu, University Board Chairman Anand Mahindra, Co-Chairman Srini Raju, Board Members P. Devaiah, Suchitra Ella and Satish Reddy, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to CM Seshadri, CM’s Special Secretary Ajith Reddy along with senior officials participated in the meeting.
