Hyderabad, Nov.16 (NSS): President and Vice-Chairman of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS), Mohammed Faheemuddin Qureshi, has called upon the people of Telangana to actively participate in the ongoing State-wide integrated Census. The Census aims to capture the current socio-economic conditions across all communities, castes, and segments of society.
He expressed gratitude to the Congress leadership for initiating the Census and thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for making arrangements to launch the survey. He emphasized that the participation of all citizens is essential to create an accurate picture of the socio-economic status of every community within Telangana.
Faheem Qureshi stated, “Once the Census is complete, the government will be better positioned to focus welfare measures, schemes, and other programs on areas that need attention, ensuring justice and support for all sections of society.” Upon concerns raised by Opposition parties, he urged people not to be swayed by misconceptions and confirmed that the State machinery is fully mobilized to complete the Census as scheduled.
He appealed to citizens to cooperate with Census staff by providing accurate information. He also highlighted the appointment of a dedicated BC Commission to investigate backwardness quota in local bodies for backward class citizens in the State alignment with orders from the High Court. He said this will further strengthen the data collected in the integrated census.
Qureshi noted that Telangana’s Census initiative could serve as a model for other States, offering valuable insights into caste demographics and socio- economic conditions essential for promoting social justice and targeted development.
