TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar hoists national flag at Bus Bhavan

Hyderabad, Aug.15 (NSS): Independence Day was celebrated at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday. Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar  unfurled the national flag and saluted it on the occasion. Along with the company’s top officials, he paid floral tributes to the portraits of the great personalities and remembered them.

Later, he wished the people who are supporting the TGSRTC and the staff who are constantly working for the development of the organization on the occasion of the Independence Day.

Speaking on the occasion, h said India got independence as a result of many sacrifices and wished that every citizen should contribute to the progress of the country. He recalled that the RTC employees played an important role in the Telangana statehood movement by drawing inspiration from the spirit of India’s independence movement. He said the State government’s ambitious Mahalaxmi-free bus facility scheme for women was being successfully implemented by the RTC staff with commitment, dedication and discipline. He said so far, more than 77 crore women had been safely dropped to their destinations by their staff.

He said the management was planning to buy new buses to accommodate the increased rush. The corporation was also rolling out electric vehicles to provide an eco-friendly travel experience to the people. He said the government had  given permission to fill up 3035 posts in the RTC after a gap of almost 12 years and added that the recruitment process for these posts was currently underway.

He said the  welfare of the employees was a big priority and added that the government had announced a 21% fitment for 2017, which has been pending for many years and added that from May this year, the organisation was providing salaries with new PRC to the staff. He said the company had provided employment under compassionate appointments to the family members of 2,000 employees who lost their lives in the line of duty after serving the organisation for a long time and who were medically unfit.

Sajjanar handed over certificates of appreciation to 30 RTC officials and staff for their outstanding performance in their duties during the celebrations. He also congratulated B. Satyanarayana, Store Attendant, Karimnagar Zonal Workshop, who has planted more than 70,000 saplings in the last 10 years to protect the environment.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dr V. Ravinder, Executive Directors Munisekhar and Krishnakanth, Medical Advisor Saidi Reddy, Finance Advisor Vijaya Pushpa, CME Venkanna, CTM Usha Devi, CCOS Vijayabhaskar and others were present.
