
Hyderabad, Oct.29 (NSS): TiE Grad Plus is an entrepreneurship program designed to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset and inspire innovative business ideas among students. Twelve teams participated in the competition.
Green Fusion, an energy monitoring startup for industries from Vishnu Institute of Technology, Bhimavaram, emerged as the winner, taking home ₹1 lakh in prize money. G-Eye, A compact and affordable eye examination device from G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Sciences claimed the 1st runner-up position with a prize of ₹50,000, while Red String, an affordable, tailored talent solutions platform for startups to showcase, source, and scale from Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering & Technology won the 2nd runner-up position with ₹20,000. A special People’s Choice Award for the best Elevator Pitch went to Green Fusion, securing an additional ₹10,000.
The TiE Grad Plus Regional Finals 2024 witnessed an inspiring display of young entrepreneurial talent, as student teams from various colleges competed for top honors and the opportunity to advance to prestigious platforms like the TiE Global Summit (TGS) 2024 in Bangalore and the Rice Business Plan Competition (RBPC).
Addressing the participants, chief guest Joginder Tanikella, CEO, T-Works shared his experiences with startup innovators who bring their prototypes to life at T-Works, including WCB Robotics, a past TiE Grad startup. He encouraged students with aspirations to move their ideas forward, offering T-Works as a resource for prototype development and guidance.
Srini Chandupatla, President of TiE Hyderabad stated TiE Grad is a powerful launch pad that transforms academic ideas into real-world ventures, paving the way for tomorrow’s innovators. Bhanu Prakash Varla was the chair of the TiE Grad Committee. Dr Nandita Sethi, Co-Chair of the TiE Grad Committee underscored the transformative impact of TiE Grad in supporting student; entrepreneurial ambitions. The benefits and opportunities the winners will enjoy networking and mentorship.
