Hyderabad, Sept.6 (NSS): P. Viswa Prasad, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad today said devotees participate in the 10-day festival where thousands of people visit Khairtabad Bada Ganesh everyday from various parts of the city and other places from September 7 to 17. On the 11th day i.e. September 17, the idol will be immersed in Hussain Sagar Lake. In view of this, the following traffic diversion arrangements will be made on need basis from 1100 hours to till late in the night, depending on the rush and flow of visitors.
The general traffic coming from VV Statue towards Mint Compound via, Rajeev Gandhi Statue will not be allowed and diverted at Rajeev Gandhi Statue towards Nirankari Junction. The general traffic coming from Old PS Saifabad towards Bada Ganesh via Rajdoot lane will not be allowed and diverted at Rajdoot lane towards Iqbal Minar. The general traffic coming from Iqbal Minar towards Mint Compound lane will not be allowed and diverted at Mint Lane Entrance towards Telugu Thalli junction. The general traffic coming from NTR Marg/Khairatabad Flyover/Necklace Road towards Mint Compound will not be allowed and diverted at Necklace Rotary towards Telugu Thalli junction or Khairatabad fly-over. The general traffic coming from Nirankari via Khairatabad Post Office lane towards Khairatabad Railway gate will not be allowed and diverted at Post Office towards Old PS Saifabad junction.
As large number of devotees are expected especially of weekends and other public holidays, traffic congestion is expected at the following junctions viz., Khairtabad, Shadan College, Nirankari, Old PS Saifabad, Mint Compound, and Necklace Rotary. Hence, the commuters are requested to avoid these routes.
Parking places: Visitors coming for Bada Ganesh darshan through Necklace Rotary and NTR Garden should park their vehicles at Ambedkar Square Parking place beside IMAX Theatre, NTR Garden parking places, opposite IMAX, Saraswathi Vidya Mandir High School premises and Race course Road parking Place.
Visitors coming on their own vehicles for Bada Ganesh darshan must come through Necklace Road/Imax Rotary and avoid Khairatabad Rajiv Gandhi Statue Road, and Rajdoot lane road. It is to inform that the above restrictions will be imposed depending on the number of devotees coming to have darshan of Khairatabad Bada Ganesh.
The devotees are requested to park their vehicles at the designated parking places only in an orderly fashion and the commuters are requested to take alternative routes to reach their destinations to avoid delays on account of traffic congestion.
