
Hyderabad, Nov.30 (NSS): The two-week training program, conducted by Dr MCR HRD Institute for the journalists and media professionals from Guyana, came to an end. The program was sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, under Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Program.
Dr Shashank Goel, IAS, Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute & Spl Chief Secretary to Government of Telangana, who was the chief guest, said the Course Team arranged sessions on the topics of immense importance by senior-most professionals from the Print, Electronic, and Social Media and thereby provided the Media Professionals from Guyana with a well-rounded toolkit that will not only enhance their ability to produce high-quality journalism but also enrich the bilateral relations between India and Guyana.
Goel, stated in the present-day rapidly evolving media landscape, the role of media and public relations is more critical than ever before. “It is of pertinent importance for the journalists to keep their skill sets current and up-to-date by adopting a proactive approach to continuous learning”, he stated and added that the Media Professionals from Guyana should embrace innovation while staying true to their core values of honesty, integrity, and accountability.
“As you return to Guyana, I call upon you to use the knowledge and skills you have gained during this training program to make a meaningful contribution to the media sector in your country. Let the lessons learned here serve as a foundation for a new era of responsible, ethical, and impactful journalism in Guyana” Goel, emphasized.
He thanked the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for giving an opportunity to Dr MCR HRD Institute, under ITEC Program of bilateral cooperation with Partner – Developing Countries. On this occasion, he gave away the Course Completion Certificates to the Media Professionals from Guyana. “The training program, in addition to classroom sessions, involved multiple subject – related field visits, which were of great help in understanding different aspects of Media Management in their true and total frame of reference.”, said Jovan Wilson, who attended the Training Program. Latchman Singh, another trainee, stated that the Training Program provided for visits to places of historical importance which were greatly instrumental in developing a deeper understanding of Indian culture and its nuances.
Dr Madhavi Ravulapati, Course Director & Head CLP & CIS submitted a report on the salient features of the Training Program and, inter alia, stated that the Dr MCR HRD Institute has been empanelled by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. “As a part of this, the Institute has conducted a number of training programs for the global audience in the recent past”, she added. She welcomed the gathering and proposed a vote of thanks.
