
Tirumala, Aug.2 (NSS): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer Syamala Rao today reiterated that the hotels and fast food centres in Tirumala should provide clean, quality and delicious food to the devotees, who come to have darshan of Srivaru from distant places.
After the Dial Your EO program, speaking to media persons, the EO said, to ensure the health safety and security of the pilgrims, the Food Safety Department will train the hotel staff soon on the hygienic habits and cooking measures to be followed in the eateries. All the hotel owners in Tirumala must obtain Food Safety Department certificate which is mandatory to run the hotel with safety standards, he asserted.
Later, he also briefed the media about the pilgrim details in July. Number of pilgrims who had darshan is 22.13 lakh; Hundi Collection Rs 125.35 crore; Number of Srivari Laddus sold 1.04 crore; Number of devotees who had Annaprasadam 24.04 lakh and number of Tonsurings 8.67 lakh.
