Hyderabad, Dec.12 (NSS): The two-day long awareness seminar for the Members of Telangana State Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly was concluded at MCRHRD, Jubilee Hills on Thursday.
The closing ceremony was attended by Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Government Advisors Vem Narender Reddy, Legislative Council Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy and Legislation Secretary Dr. V Narasimhacharya.
A total of 17 Members from the Legislative Council and 61 Members from the Assembly participated in the awareness seminar.
Speaking on the occasion, Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy said that the Telangana State had started a new tradition by conducting an awareness programme on the functions and procedures of the legislature for MLAs and MLCs and Such programmes had never happened before.
“If the government provides support, we will soon constitute all the committees of the Assembly and Legislative Council. Moreover, We are also planning to conduct study tours soon,” he disclosed.
Assembly Speaker Prasad Kumar said that for the first time since the formation of the Telangana State, such an awareness conference has been officially organised for the Members of the Legislative Council and Assembly.
He expressed happiness at the Members attending the two-day seminar with interest in learning about legislative affairs.
