DUBAI(RAHNUMA): UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan met his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss security developments in the region amid ongoing military escalation, state news agency WAM reported.
The two leaders also talked about the regional and global security and economic implications of the Iranian aggression on the UAE and the wider region, WAM said.
Zelensky, who is on a working visit to the UAE, reiterated his condemnation of the Iranian attacks, as they were a “violation of sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter and undermines regional and international peace and security.”
Sheikh Mohamed emphasized that the UAE was addressing the situation with “wisdom and restraint” as a commitment to prevent further tension and crisis in the region, but underscored the government’s determination to defend its territory amidst Iranian attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
They also discussed ways to enhance their countries’ bilateral cooperation, through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
