Uttar Pradesh went for assembly elections 2017 polling across its seven phases for 403 assembly seats. With an overall voting percentage of 61 per cent, the voting has been slightly higher than the 59.5 per cent registered in the 2012 assembly elections.The crucial state elections witnessed a fight between Bharatiya Janata Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance. According to TimesNow-VMR exit poll, the BJP is expected to form the next government in Uttar Pradesh winning 190-210 seats in the 403-member assembly. The Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance is tipped to win 110-130 seats and the BSP 57-74 seats.
