Days after an Andhra woman, N Sasikala, was found dead in her home in New Jersey in the US along with her seven-year-old son, her husband was questioned by the police.
This came after Sasikala’s family in Vijayawada has alleged that Sasikala’s husband, N Hanumantha Rao was involved in the murder.
The family has also claimed Hanumantha was having an extra-marital affair with a colleague in his office.
The Maple Shade police has been reportedly been questioning the alleged colleague along with three others, who were working with Hanumantha.
According to a report by the Times of India, Maple Shade police have locked the apartment, and have denied Hanumantha entry into the crime scene. His passport has been kept inside the house.
Narrating the incident he reportedly told the police that he returned home late on Thursday night, after his three colleagues dropped him home.
He reportedly said that he called out to his son, but there was no response. Following this, he went to the bedroom, to find both of them lying dead. “Since it is a double homicide, it may take at least two or three days for the bodies to be handed over to be taken to India,” Mohan Nannapaneni of Telugu Association of North America (TANA) told TOI.
Nine years ago, Sasikala moved to New Jersey with her husband, while the couple was working for different IT companies.
Sasikala used to work from home for an IT company while Hanumantha Rao was working as an associate director in another firm.
Vijay Bhaskar, Sasikala’s brother, alleged that  things began to sour for the couple two years ago.
He found out that his sister was worried about her marriage when he received an email from Sasikala in 2014, where she told him that Hanumantha was having an extra-marital affair.
