“Use welfare schemes, transform lives”: Minister Rajanarsimha urges villagers

Sangareddy, April 2 (RAHNUMA): State Medical and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Thursday reiterated that welfare of all sections remains the government’s top priority, urging the people to fully utilise various schemes aimed at uplifting the poor.

Addressing a Gram Sabha at Almayipet village in Andole Mandal under the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” programme, the Minister said the government is ensuring that every eligible beneficiary receives scheme benefits without delay.

The meeting began with the Telangana State song and a message from Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, followed by officials outlining development works and welfare scheme implementation.

Highlighting the women’s welfare, the Minister said 30 types of medical tests are being conducted for women and Self-Help Group members in every village. He added that Rs.3.5 crore in loans, along with Rs.2.5 lakh interest subsidy, has been extended to 28 SHGs in Almayipet village.

He listed key schemes, including Indiramma housing, Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bima, free RTC bus travel for women, interest-free loans, and 200 units of free electricity, urging villagers to make full use of them.

Rajanarsimha also assured that all basic infrastructure would be provided if a new colony is developed in the village, and announced approvals for road works, drainage and other civic amenities.

Noting delays in housing construction, he directed the beneficiaries to complete pending Indiramma houses and promised support, while also assuring fresh sanctions for new applicants.

District Collector Praveenya emphasised active public participation in welfare programmes and highlighted initiatives like Indira Mahila Shakti, ration card distribution, and upcoming schemes including nutritious ragi breakfast and family life insurance.

The Minister also ordered action to restore around 40 acres of assigned land to rightful beneficiaries after irregular registrations were identified.

Later, the Minister and officials laid the foundation stone for construction of an Indiramma house in the village.
