
Hyderabad, Sept.27 (NSS): Minister for Irrigation Uttam Kumar Reddy has directed officials to expedite the completion of the Sitarama Lift Irrigation project envisaging supply of water to cater to the irrigation needs of Khammam and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts.
The Minister emphasised that the project should meet the timeline set by the State government.
It is noteworthy that on August 15, the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the pump houses related to this project.
Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with his fellow Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, conducted a review meeting with officials of the irrigation department at Jalasoudha here on Friday and discussed the progress of tunnel and canal construction works.
The meeting was attended by the State’s irrigation advisor Aditya Nath Das, Secretary Rahul Bojja, Special Secretary Prashanth Jeevan Patil, and Engineers-in-Chief Anil Kumar and Nagender Rao, among others. Also present were Sitarama project Chief Engineer Srinivas Reddy and Khammam District Chief Engineer Vidyasagar.
During the meeting, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stressed that no delays should occur regarding land acquisition. He also urged the officials to ensure that administrative approvals are granted without any unnecessary delays.
The Minister further directed the officials to expedite the tender process and complete it as soon as possible. He also called for better coordination among officials on technical matters.
Reaffirming Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s commitment, Uttam Kumar Reddy insisted that the project must be completed within the stipulated time frame.
