Vemulawada, Sept.9 (NSS): In a significant development, the Vemulawada Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple, renowned as the “Dakshina Kashi,” is set for a grand expansion.
Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas, along with officials from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and temple authorities, on Monday visited Shringeri Peetham to seek blessings and guidance from the revered heads of the mutt.
Aadi Srinivas and his delegation, including OSD Vemula Srinivasulu and temple EO Vinod Reddy, made the pilgrimage to Shringeri. The objective of their visit was to present the proposed expansion plans of the Rajarajeshwara temple to Sri Sri Sri Jagadguru Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji and Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Swamiji, the pontiffs of Shringeri Peetham.
During their earlier visit to the Peetham, the mutt heads had advised the Telangana government to present detailed architectural plans for review. Following this, the delegation presented the temple’s expansion model, seeking their input and approval for carrying out the works in accordance with the sacred Agama Shastra.
The Shringeri pontiffs provided valuable insights and suggestions, giving their blessings for the expansion. They also conveyed their intention to visit the Raja Rajeshwara temple soon and offer further guidance on the developmental activities.
In a release, Congress MLA Aadi Srinivas said that Sri Raja Rajeshwara temple, which holds great spiritual significance for devotees, has already received a grant of ₹50 crore from the Telangana government for its development and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, and other key Ministers have played an instrumental role in securing the funds.
The visit to Shringeri Peetham marks another step forward in the temple’s comprehensive development plan, he said.
Aadi Srinivas further stated that with the support of Shringeri Peetham and the State government, the expansion of Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple is poised to take significant strides in the near future, further elevating its spiritual and cultural importance.
