
Hyderabad, Jan.21 (RAHNUMA): Dasu Krishna Murthy, eminent journalist, passed away this morning at New Jersey, USA, after a brief illness. He was 99 years old and six months short of hitting the century.
Krishna Murthy belonged to the first batch of Journalism course of Osmania University – 1954-55. He worked in The Indian Express, Times of India and Patriot. He was Associate professor of the Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi and on the guest faculty of Osmania University, AP open University and University of Hyderabad. The OU alumni honoured him with Lifetime Achievement award in 2024.
He was the elder brother of Dasu Kesavarao, retired Deputy editor of The Hindu, Hyderabad. He moved to US in 2001 to stay with his daughter and family.
A number of journalist organisations and senior Journalists mourned his passing away and conveyed their condolences to the members of the bereaved family.
