VH asks Jagan to demand CBI probe into adulterated ghee in TTD Laddu

Hyderabad, Sept.24 (NSS): Several reports have revealed that adulterated ghee was used in the preparation of Tirumala Srivari Laddu Prasadam. Reacting to the issue, senior Telangana Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao (VH) has suggested to YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy to demand a CBI probe into the matter and added that the CBI probe would be in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi while noting that the CBI should complete the probe within three months.

Speaking on the occasion, VH  said those who committed wrong should be punished and added that everyone was saying that fish oil and bull fat were mixed in the ghee used for the prasadam of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. “I have never seen such a thing in the past. It can be assumed that there was corruption in sending devotees to Tirumala for darshan. But is it even in the preparation of Swami’s prasadam that there is corruption,” he said.

In its report, the NDDB has stated that animal fat was used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus during the tenure of the previous government. This has created a lot of panic among the devotees of Tirumala across the world. In this context, the Chandrababu government has taken steps to bring to light the truth about it. As part of this, the Chandrababu government has decided to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams on Monday conducted shanti homam in the wake of the incident. After that, the priests performed samprokshana on the streets of Thirumada along with the Ananda Nilayam where srivaru was residing.
