Hyderabad, Nov.27 (NSS): In the early hours of Wednesday, unidentified persons vandalised the car of senior Congress leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao at his residence in Amberpet, Hyderabad.
The assailants reportedly rammed another vehicle into VH’s parked car around 4 AM before fleeing the scene. Expressing his distress, VH stated that this is the second such attack against him.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at VH’s residence to investigate. The Congress leader urged the police authorities to promptly apprehend and strictly punish the culprits, emphasising the need to uncover the motives behind the attack. The police assured VH of appropriate action and conducted a thorough examination of the damaged vehicle.
This incident follows a previous attack on VH’s residence in April 2022, where unidentified individuals vandalised his car by pelting stones, causing significant damage.
The recurrence of such attacks raises concerns about the safety of political figures and the effectiveness of security measures in place. The police assured that they would intensify their efforts to ensure the protection of public figures and prevent such incidents in the future.
