Vice President of Ghana Meets Qatar's UNESCO Candidate

Accra, March 04 (QNA) – Vice President of The Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, met here Saturday HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate for the post of Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural (UNESCO).
Talks during the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries.
In this context, Vice President of Ghana expressed his country’s keenness to develop relations, especially in the areas of employment and investment and enhance cooperation in matters of international organizations, stressing that the exchange of visits between officials of both countries is the best way to explore prospects of cooperation.
     For his part, HE Al Kuwari briefed the Ghanaian official on his vision to achieve a new breakthrough for the organization, stressing UNESCO’s need for international solidarity to enable it to perform its noble mission in education, culture and science, pointing out in this regard to Africa’s role in his vision for UNESCO.
The Ghanaian Vice President welcomed the Qatari candidate’s vision, wishing him success and looking forward to cooperating with him in the future for the advancement of the Organization. (QNA)
