
Hyderabad, Nov.17 (RAHNUMA):Women development and child welfare minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) on Monday announced that the Telangana government is committed to making the state malnutrition-free and has decided to supply Vijaya milk to all Anganwadi children. Mulugu district has been selected as the pilot project for the initiative.
The minister urged Anganwadi teachers to play an active role in the program’s success and asked them to create awareness among the parents about the services offered at Anganwadi centres. She further directed the Anganwadi workers to ensure that these centres function on par with corporate schools.
As part of Elderly Week celebrations, the Minister unveiled the posters and warned that assets of those who neglect their parents could be seized and handed over to the parents. Similarly, during Child Rights Week, she released posters on child protection and child-marriage prevention. Seethakka stressed that child marriages hinder children’s development and called for making Mulugu a child-marriage-free district.
The District Collector thanked the Minister for selecting Mulugu as a model district. District welfare officer Tula Ravi detailed the ongoing programs, and the Minister inaugurated the milk distribution drive under Mulugu CDPO Kuchana Sirisha, providing 100 ml milk to pre-school children.
Officials including ITDA PO Chitra Mishra, Additional Collector Mahender and various ICDS staff participated.
