
Hyderabad, Sept.11 (NSS): BRS party MLAs KP Vivekananda and Padi Kaushik Reddy today met with Telangana Legislature Secretary Narasimhacharyulu here and submitted a petition to the latter seeking action to implement the High Court’s verdict on the petition filed against the BRS party MLAs who had switched sides.
Speaking on the occasion, K P Vivekananda said the High Court had directed the Speaker to take action against the defected leaders Danam Nagender, Kadiyam Srihari and Tellam Venkatrao within four weeks. He recalled that the High Court had given directions to the Legislature Secretary to initiate action. KP criticized minister Sridhar Babu for speaking in such a way that time passes without taking action against the MLAs who have switched sides. Vivekananda demanded that action be taken against the defected MLAs to protect the dignity of the Assembly.
The petition against the remaining seven MLAs was pending in the Speaker’s office, he said. He also said the Supreme Court bench had earlier ruled that there should be no delay on the disqualification of the MLAs. He criticized minister Sridhar Babu for distorting Vivekananda also reacted sharply to the appointment of PAC chairman. He demanded that Sridhar Babu should tell what rules were followed in the case of PAC chairman appointment. “If 14 people filed their nominations for the PAC, elections should be held. However, Arikepudi Gandhi filed his nomination for the PAC secretly, “he alleged.
Vivekananda also demanded to know as to who gave the fourth name on behalf of his party. “What happened to Harish Rao’s nomination? Revanth Reddy has cheated the BRS MLAs, who joined the Congress party,” he added.
