New Delhi: A 33-year-old business consultant was killed after a speeding car, being allegedly driven by a teen, hit him while he was crossing the road here, police said on Tuesday.
The accident took place around 10 p.m. on Monday at Sham Nath Marg in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area.
Police said the man, identified as Siddhartha Sharma, died on the spot after a speeding Mercedes car hit him. He was crossing the road to get some eatables from the nearby market.

“The accused fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind,” said a police officer, adding a case under the section of rash and negligent driving of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and hunt is on for the absconding culprit.
The car’s owner, Manoj Agarawal, was called to the police station and after questioning him it came to light that the vehicle was being driven by a teenager, whose identity is withheld, the officer added.
