
Hyderabad, Oct.11 (NSS): The wedding season has begun in Telangana. The auspicious moments started from the 5th of this month. These three months i.e. October, November and December have good muhurats and a large number of weddings will take place in these three months. As many as 10,000 weddings will take place in Hyderabad’s twin cities alone in the next three months, which are the highest number of weddings in the last five years. The organisers of the banquet halls are saying that advance bookings have also increased. The preparations for the weddings have started as pundits say that the October month is very favourable for weddings, house-warning ceremonies and other auspicious events.
Since the end of June, weddings and other auspicious events have been postponed due to lack of good days. There are muhurats from this month. The function halls bookings for the weddings have been going on since the arrival of October month. Bookings are underway for the banquet halls.
According to pundits, there are muhurats for marriages on October 12, 13, 16, 20 and 27 and on November 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 16 and 17. There are ten days of muhurats in December. With good muhurats lasting for 25 days, including three months, orders have also started in a range for those decorating bhajabhajantris, mandapams and catering. Dussehra is the ideal month for good deeds along with the festivities and the market has also started buzzing. According to business sources, sales in shopping malls and gold shops have also increased substantially. Even though the price of gold has gone up, orders are coming in for jewellery.

There is a possibility of more marriages this year than last year. This season, the wedding muhurats will start from October 12. Weddings are likely to take place this time more than the same season last year. Nearly 35 lakh marriages took place in the same season in 2023. At that time, there was a business of about Rs 4.25 lakh crore. With 48 lakh weddings taking place this year, the business is expected to grow further.
According to the Confederation of All India Trade (CAIT), the average per wedding ceremony is Rs 12 lakh. During this time, the entire market will be completely busy with the wedding preparations. Most of the purchases of gold, silver and jewellery are from the weddings. The demand for wedding dresses will increase exponentially. Indian fashion designers and the textile industry are making huge profits. There is also a golden opportunity for small traders.
The wedding season is a golden opportunity not only for big businessmen but also for small traders. Presses that print greeting letters, photographers, tents, cookers, catering boys, beauticians, mehndi artists, flower vendors, mangalsutras, DJ museums, speakers were rented out. Many of these goods and services are associated with marriages.
During the wedding season, this business runs without a moment’s hesitation. In the country, lakhs of crores of rupees of business is done for wedding ceremonies of ordinary and middle class people. Celebrities and the rich are pouring in countless amounts of money for the destination wedding. It is estimated that a destination wedding abroad costs Rs 1 lakh crore every year.
