Hyderabad, Oct.27 (NSS): A weekend rave party in Janwada farm house, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, has become the center of a political controversy in Telangana.
The presence of BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s brother-in-law among those attending the rave party has taken a political significance.
The high-profile event at a farmhouse owned by Raj Pakala saw 35 attendees, one of whom tested positive for cocaine, prompting political and public outcry.
On Saturday night, police received a tip-off about the party, leading Narasingi police, the Cyberabad SOT team, and Excise officials to raid the farmhouse. They discovered an extravagant party in progress. After conducting drug tests on attendees, Vijay Madduari tested positive for cocaine and was taken into custody.
The authorities also seized unauthorised foreign liquor, gaming tokens, and casino materials at the scene. Cases were registered against Raj Pakala under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act and Excise Act at Chevella police station. The party organisers Karthik and Raj Pakala were designated as the primary accused, A1 and A2, respectively.
In total, 35 people, including 14 women, attended the rave party. The presence of drugs prompted authorities to deploy sniffer dogs for a thorough inspection. Police seized 10 liters of unauthorised foreign liquor and 10 bottles of Indian-made liquor. Officials confirmed that the Excise department had not granted any permission for this party, leading to further cases under the NDPS Act.
