Author: ARAB NEWSSat, 2017-03-18ID: 1489825227925745800RIYADH: Keith Weir and Tennille Maclean pulled of great runs to win their 10-kilometer race in what was Riyadh Road Runners’ largest, in terms of participants. Al-Bustan Compound played host to the event of over four laps on a perfect morning. Keith Weir from County Tyrone in Northern Ireland ran his first-event in the Kingdom and set an early pace with Thomas Schneider, who was running his last race in the Kingdom. Both ran together for the first lap but Weir then took control and managed to stretch his lead over each of the next three laps. He finished with commendable time of 39:30 seconds, a full minute ahead of Schneider. Sam Richards, a regular on the podium, tried to close the gap on Schneider but came 20 seconds later and finished third.Tennille Maclean a 15-year-old won the ladies race (and Juniors) and led right from the start and finished with impressive 44:30. Behind her was Claudine Roghi who clocked 1:15 and the last person on the podium was Dobrawa Skupniewicz nearly a minute later. One other performance to be highlighted was the 44:00 time by Rod Woodward in his last-year before joining the senior category.
