Sangareddy, Nov.18 (NSS): BJP MP DK Aruna has questioned as to why Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has so much love for pharma companies, even though the villagers are refusing to give their lands for the pharma companies.
BJP MPs DK Aruna, Eatala Rajender and party senior leaders met 16 persons, who are lodged in the district jail in connection with the Lagacharla case, in Sangareddy on Monday.
Later, speaking to the media, DK Aruna said that the villagers had been agitating for the last eight months stating that their land would not be given to the pharma company in Lagacharla village.
“Farmers turned angry when the authorities tried to forcibly take away the lands. The farmers have boycotted the public hearing. If Vikarabad district Collector Prateek Jain did not actually come for the public hearing, why did he go alone and took part in it,” she questioned.
DK Aruna alleged that the attack on the District Collector was taken place due to the failure of the police and moreover, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother had scared the farmers in the village.
“Police came to the village at the night and attacked the villagers. They arrested all those except the Congress party workers,” she alleged.
DK Aruna alleged that the farmers were being threatened with violence and made to sign signatures forcefully.
“Is the pharma company important to you than the people who voted and won,” she asked.
Mahabubnagar MP DK Aruna demanded the immediate release of the victims of Lagacharla.
Another MP Eatala Rajender said that section 144 had been imposed to prevent the people’s representatives from going to the Lagacharla village. He demanded that the State government tender an unconditional apology to the victims and release them.
“Action should be taken against the policemen who behaved in a bad manner and used the third degree methods . It is different for the government to take land for public purposes. But what’s the reason behind handing it over to big companies,” he asked.
Eatala Rajender alleged that the attacks were carried out in a planned manner by Congress leaders.
