Hyderabad, Oct.25 (NSS): Union Minister and BJP Telangana State president Kishan Reddy today spoke at the valedictory function of the BJP’s ‘Mahadharna’ programme held at Indira Park in support of the Musi river project victims. He said the BJP undertook the mahadharna on behalf of the poor people to protest against the dictatorial attitude of the Congress government. He said in the last assembly elections, many kinds of promises were made by the ruling party, but not a single promise was implemented so far.
He criticised that it was shameful to announce that the houses of the poor would be demolished in the name of the Musi river beautification project by the Congress government to divert the attention of the people from its deceitful attitude. He said their party would go to every house in the Musi catchment areas, collect details and intensify the party’s campaign on behalf of the poor in the coming days.
“At least now, the State government should withdraw the decision to demolish the houses of the poor. Otherwise, it will have to face serious consequences. If the houses of the poor people are demolished, Telangana will become a battleground. We warn that no police will be able to stop the poor if they revolt in anger,” he warned.
Reddy said the musi river should be beautified in such a manner so that the houses of the poor people do not go into it.
He said if the State government wanted to demolish the houses of the poor, their party would stop it at every step. He said the GHMC and Metro Water Works in Hyderabad were struggling with shortage of funds and added that there was a lack of basic infrastructure in Hyderabad. He said the State government should stop trying to fool the people with advertisements of the Musi beautification with ₹.1.5 lakh crore.
He alleged that the previous BRS government had made announcements showing graphics in pink colours that it would build sky-high buildings around Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad city and added that former KCR said Hussain Sagar water would be converted into coconut water while noting the same leader confined himself to his farmhouse now. He alleged that CM Revanth Reddy’s rule was continuing in the same manner as KCR’s rule.
Talking about his government, Reddy said under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, the Central government was sending free ration to every poor household every month so that no poor person goes hungry. “The Central government is providing health insurance cover to poor families through ‘Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’. The BJP has been at the forefront of serving the poor in line with the ideology of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The BJP will thwart the Revanth government’s attempts to demolish the houses of the poor and make them homeless and take the responsibility of wiping the tears of the poor,” he said.
