
Hyderabad, Dec.2 (NSS): A woman constable Nagamani was murdered in Ibrahimpatnam mandal of Ranga Reddy district. The incident took place on the road from Rayapolu to Endlaguda.
According to CI Satyanarayana, Nagamani works at Hayatnagar police station. She was married in the past. She divorced her husband ten months ago. She married another man of inter-caste a month ago. Her brother couldn’t bear this. While she was on way to work, Nagamani was hit by a car and attacked with a hunting sickle and killed. The CI said Nagamani and one Srikanth had a love marriage on November 1 at Yadagirigutta. They are from Rayapolu and have been staying in Hayatnagar after marriage, he said. The CI said the couple had gone to their native village as Sunday was a holiday. Nagamani was chased and hit by a car. He said it was found that she was murdered with a sickle.
Nagamani’s husband Srikanth said he and Nagamani had been in love for the past eight years. He was speaking to the media in the wake of Nagamani’s murder. “I helped Nagamani become a constable and in 2021, she got a job. We got married in Yadagirigutta last month. We have lodged a complaint with the police that there is a threat to our lives. Her family members threatened to kill her. Nagamani was killed by her brother. She phoned me before leaving Rayapole. She spoke nervously that her younger brother was attacking her,” he said. On the other hand, Srikanth’s family members protested at Ibrahimpatnam PS. They protested on the road.
