
Srikakulam, Nov.1 (NSS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today said the women of Erupuram should live with self-respect at all times. Naidu inaugurated the free gas cylinder scheme at Edupuram in Ichchapuram mandal of Srikakulam district as part of Deepam 2.0 program.
Speaking at the Praja Vedika program organised at Edupuram on the occasion, the CM said in the recent elections, the Telugu people fought an uncompromising fight against YSRCP leaders who had crossed the limits of democracy and created trouble. “As a responsible person for the society, I am aware of the sufferings of women with a firewood stove and if we give a cylinder under the deepam scheme and solve the hardships of women, we will bring back the glory of the self-help groups. We will turn women into entrepreneurs. I remember being told that the State should stand and people have to win. We will ensure that the money you pay for the gas cylinder is refunded within 48 hours. We are trying to make sure that you don’t have to pay for the cylinder. We are the government which is providing pension to 64 lakh people and are providing more pension than any other State, we are implementing schemes despite financial problems. The government does not have the money. There is a mind to stand by the people. The elderly and the disabled, Single women can take the amount of pension once three months,” he added.
Naidu said the NDA government was the only government that is providing sand free of cost and added that they would arrest all those, who commit irregularities under the PD Act. He said there would be no substandard liquor during their tenure and there would also be no belt shops. He said they would work hard for the people who have given them a historic victory.
“We are constructing some diaphragm walls for Polavaram project at a cost of Rs 390 crore. Under phase-1, the Centre has given Rs 12,500 crore and we have put Amaravati back on track. The Central government also cooperated. Vizag is being developed as the financial capital. We will also protect Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The Centre has also given money. The operation began in the second furnace. We have cleared the Visakhapatnam railway board and we will perform the bhoomi pujan very soon. An airport will be set up in Palasa and an industrial corridor will be set up in 15,000 acres of land in Moolapet. We have made all arrangements to provide 16,347 jobs by December through mega job drive. We are working to bring in large scale industries. We will give ration cards and pensions to all those who are eligible,” he said.
Union Minister Rammohan Naidu alleged that Jagan has destroyed the State by pleading people to give them one opportunity. He also alleged that the YSRCP government had cancelled the deepam scheme given by Chandrababu. He urged CM Chandrababu to solve the Uddanam issue permanently. He said Job opportunities would be provided locally to the youth of North Andhra.
Minister Nameda Manohar said migration would be stopped by bringing research centers to the north Andhra region. Minister Achennaidu, local MLA and many high officials and public representatives participated in the program.
