WOMEN’S CONGRESS HOSTS GRAND BATHUKAMMA FESTIVAL AT GANDHI BHAVAN

Hyderabad, Oct.5 (NSS): In a colorful display of tradition and culture, the Telangana Women’s Congress, under the leadership of its president Sunitha Rao, organised a grand Bathukamma festival at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday.

The event commenced with a formal executive meeting of the Women’s Congress, led by Sunitha Rao, where important matters were discussed, followed by the festive celebrations.

The Bathukamma festival was officially inaugurated by Jagga Reddy, the working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). While extending his best wishes, Jagga Reddy appreciated the vibrant participation of the women, highlighting the significance of Bathukamma as a celebration of Telangana’s unique cultural heritage and womanhood.

The event witnessed a large gathering of women who enthusiastically took part in the traditional Gauramma Pooja, offering prayers and playing Bathukamma games in a spirit of unity and festivity. The atmosphere was filled with joy, with women dressed in colorful attire and participating wholeheartedly in the rituals and dances that are symbolic of Bathukamma.

Several prominent leaders also graced the occasion. Among them was Kalva Sujatha, chairperson of Arya Vyshya Corporation and Ravali Reddy, TPCC General Secretary, along with other leaders of the Women’s Congress. Their presence added to the enthusiasm of the participants and underscored the importance of women’s leadership in both cultural and political spheres.

The event not only celebrated the cultural significance of Bathukamma, but also served as a platform for women leaders to connect and discuss issues related to women’s empowerment and social welfare.
