Kakinada, Aug.15 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan today participated in the Independence Day celebrations here on the occasion of 78th Independence Day. He hoisted the national flag at the Kakinada Police Parade Ground. Later, the Deputy CM accepted the police salute.
Addressing the people on the occasion, he said the law and order situation in the State had deteriorated completely under the previous YSRCP government. “If there is no law and order, no one will come forward to invest in the State,” he said.
He said his government was taking it as a prestige issue to effectively maintain law and order and added that no one would be spared if anyone touched any girl or women in the State with an ill intention. “The same thing was made clear in the conference of the Collectors and the SPs recently,” he said. He criticized that the financial situation of the State had become completely different under the previous YSRCP government. “Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, projects have not been laid with pipes and drinking water facility has not been provided,” he alleged.
He criticised that the previous government had constructed luxury buildings like Rishikonda Palace even though the financial situation of the State was very bad. He made it clear that providing employment opportunities to the youth in the State would be done not in words but in deeds.
