Hyderabad, Oct.6 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the construction work of Integrated schools will begin this year with Rs 5,000 crore.
Addressing a media conference at the Secretariat here on Sunday, the Deputy Chief Minister said that foundation would be laid a day before Dasara festival to all the integrated schools across the State.
Noting that the construction of Young India Integrated schools was a historical decision, Bhatti recalled that they had said required funds would be allocated and focus would be bestowed on education to enable Telangana Human resources compete with the world .
“The education will be imparted upto 12 th class with international standards in these schools to be constructed in an extent of 20 acres to 25 acres. At present, many residential schools were being run in kalyana mandapams, rented buildings and students were facing inconvenience due to lack of pucca buildings. The Indiramma government has resolved to offer quality education to weaker sections right from primary level,” Bhatti Vikramarka said.
“We will construct one Integrated Residential school in every constituency in an extent of 20 acres to 25 acres . So far details were sent from 25 constituencies about land required for the integrated schools construction and other aspects . These were announced as pilot projects to start the construction work,” he said.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the construction work will be started in other constituencies based on the information received.
He appreciated the entire Cabinet, Chief Secretary and officials of various departments for the exercise put in the last three months for the construction of Integrated schools.
“Out of 1, 023 residential schools in Telangana, 662 schools are functioning in rented buildings. In this year alone, our government is going to spend Rs 5,000 crores on Integrated schools. Previous government had allocated only Rs 73 crore for residential schools in one year, ” Bhatti pointed out.
The construction of modern residential school buildings will take into account the temperatures, wind speed , weather conditions of last few years in respective constituencies, he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the construction would be taken up with international standards and in such a way to utilise green energy and also to enable all sections of society to study together as a family.
He further stated that sports and recreation would also be extended to students to provide stress free academic environment to students.
The State government is also considering to provide a theatre to screen films through satellite channels to ensure students are not deprived of anything, he added.
