JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman left Japan on Wednesday, after an official visit, and sent a special message to Saudi pupils studying in the country.
“You represent your country here. Thank God that the people of our country represent it well,” he told a group of Saudi students who he received while on his state visit.
“You, God willing, are ambassadors for your country in this country, so…show the good image of your country and your people,” the king added.
The king also received a number of Islamic figures in Japan and delivered a speech recalling previous visits made by representatives of the ruling family.
“This blessed meeting with you was preceded by similar meetings over the decades,” he said.
“Eighty years ago, the late King Abdulaziz sent a representative to Japan to share with Muslims here the joy of the opening of the Tokyo Mosque in 1938, and these good, blessed meetings are still continuing.”
King Salman was seen off by Crown Prince Naruhito of Japan and other officials.
